When planning a wedding things can get overwhelming. Here’s a list to help guide you through the planning process by telling you what you need to do and when you need to do it. 


12 months before:

-Write up the guest list

-Have the money conversation and set the wedding budget

-Hire a wedding planner

-Book your venue


10 months before:

-Choose your officiant

-Go dress shopping

-Meet with potential vendors

-Select the bridal party


8 months before:

-Hire the caterer, florist, band/DJ, photographers, and reserve rentals

-Order your wedding dress if it’s custom




6 months before:

-Shop for wedding bands

-Order invitations

-Send save-the-dates

-Discuss details with vendors

-Secure any wedding day transportation for guests

-Order bridesmaid dresses

-Book the honeymoon



4 months before:

-Order your cake

-Hire a calligrapher

-Plan the rehearsal dinner

-Choose the groom’s and groomsmen’s attire



2 months before:

-Do your hair and makeup trial

-Buy your wedding dress if it’s off rack

-Write vows

-Finalize the ceremony with the officiant

-Mail invitations



6 weeks before:

-Apply for marriage license

-Print the programs, menu, et cetera



2 weeks before:

-Final dress fitting

-Send playlist to the band/DJ

-Get your marriage license

-Contact guests who missed the RSVP date



1 week before:

-Provide a final head count to the site and caterer

-Finalize the seating chart



48 hours before:

-Prepare any checks that may be due the day of



Day before:

-Do last minute primping

-Rehearse the ceremony and go to dinner

-Give gifts to the bridal party and the parents


Day of:

-Give rings to the best man and maid of honor

-Go get Beautiful

-Get Married!
