Today, we’re getting to know the chefs behind Greenville’s newest catering company, Premiere Party Catering. Chef Austyn McGroarty, the brother of Sean McGroarty at Premiere Party Entertainment, has teamed up with his buddy & mentor, Chef Ken Frazier (once Executive Chef of The Whistle Stop).

Chef Ken Frazier didn't take the normal route to cooking, like most.

After working a few odd end jobs following high school, he found himself in a kitchen learning about life and food.

He started in a local steak joint, working his way as high as possible, before venturing on to higher endeavors. Becoming the Sous Chef for The Cliffs Communities was a major step, but not before his first Executive position in Charlottesville.

He returned to SC to open Shortfields as the Executive Chef and from that point to open and become the Executive Chef of The Whistle Stop in Travelers Rest.

His passion and dedication brought him to where he is today, and he's never looked back.

Chef Austyn McGroarty has humble beginnings in the culinary field. From a sandwich artist to a barista, there isn't an aspect of the "restaurant industry" he hasn't been involved with.

Working in a few dive bars in the Greenville area landed him a spot in Travelers Rest alongside Chef Ken Frazier.

Chef Frazier schooled him in classic "from scratch" cooking and in turn rewarded him the Sous Chef at The Whistle Stop.

Seeking more knowledge, he touched up more of his skill at the Trappe Door and most recently at Hall's Chophouse.

Never losing touch with his mentor and best friend they came together to form Premiere Party Catering.
